“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” -Winston S. Churchill

Giving back to the community when the opportunity arises is something that is extremely important to our Preiss Company family. Through our previous work with the SPCA we were introduced to our friend Maria, who inspired us to become involved in this year’s “Angel Tree” for kids in the Wake County Foster Care System. We learned that there were several teens (between the ages of 13 and 17) in the system that were not receiving many donations for the holiday (because let’s face it, buying a backpack or gift card isn’t nearly as fun as picking out baby toys and Barbie dolls!) It was then that we started devising a plan to give them the Christmas morning that they deserve.

Through a combination of internal contests, a donation drive, our first ever “Holiday Spirit Week” (including Ugly Sweater & Pajama days) and generous donation matching from our President and CEO we were able to pull together the teams in our Raleigh Portfolio to collect not only a variety gifts, but also five Kindle Fire tablets and over $1,200 in Amazon Gift Cards.

Because of the overwhelming support, we were able to give to even more kids than we had originally anticipated. While we know that our Preiss family is full of generosity and spirit, we were truly floored by the enthusiasm and success that this program generated.

From our family to yours, Happy Holidays!
