Central South Carolina property is the largest off-campus housing community in Clemson with over 1,000 students
RALEIGH, NC – May 7, 2009 – The Preiss Company (“TPCO”), the largest provider of off-campus student housing at North Carolina State University, Clemson University, Auburn University in Alabama, and the University of Texas in Austin and the second largest provider at UNC Charlotte, has announced that University Village at Clemson has been named “Best Off-Campus Housing” by The Tiger, a weekly newspaper serving Clemson University. This marks the third consecutive year that the property has been awarded this distinction by readers of the college publication.
University Village at Clemson has 1,552 beds and offers 4 bed/4.5 bath and 4 bed/4 bath townhomes, as well as 4 bed/4 bath and 3 bed/3 bath garden-style apartments. Property amenities include 24/7 clubhouse, computer lab, fitness center, two swimming pools, sand volleyball court, cabana, and basketball court. Property manager, Adam Byrley, attributes University Village’s multi-year success to the property’s multitude of options, as well as to the array of choices for both new residents and renewals.
“University Village offers flexible lease terms, utility packages, and affordable rents that cater to the majority of Clemson students,” explains Byrley. “By providing an environment where students can be social AND continue to focus on academics, University Village continues to be a popular choice among Clemson students.”
University Village at Clemson offers residents one large event and one to two smaller events each month. The property’s most popular event is its monthly trivia nights, which typically attract over 250 people into the clubhouse and to the pool deck during the summer months. During these events, residents are treated to multiple prize giveaways and can enjoy complimentary meals, which feature catered food from popular local restaurants. Byrley says that this year’s August Welcome Back Party brought in between 500 to 600 people throughout the day.
Since 2002-2003, six additional off-campus housing properties have been built in the Clemson market. TPCO founder and CEO, Donna Preiss, says that despite the fact that the Clemson market is over built, highly competitive, and that the college has reduced its student body by about 1,000 students, the ability for the property to achieve this distinction is a testament to the commitment, enthusiasm, and creativity of the University Village team.
“Winning the ‘Best Off-Campus Housing’ Award is a big deal,” says Preiss. “To win it three times in a row indicates that something very special is going on at University Village at Clemson. All of us at The Preiss Company are proud of Adam [Byrley] and his team. We are truly appreciative of their efforts and for continuing to reinforce our student commitment of providing ‘the best student living experience anywhere’.”
