Company CEO and Executive Vice President begin their second term on Council committed to serve the apartment industry 

RALEIGH, NC – March 23, 2010 – The Preiss Company (“TPCO”), specializing in the development, acquisition, and management of off-campus student housing, has announced that Donna Preiss and Susan Folckemer have been appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC) for a second year. With its joint legislative partner, the National Apartment Association, NMHC serves as the apartment industry’s primary advocate on legislative and regulatory matters.  
As Founder and Chief Executive Officer of TPCO, Preiss has been recognized by Triangle Business Journal as one of the Triangle’s most successful professional women and was awarded their 2006 Women in Business Award. She has also been honored by Business Leader magazine and Triangle Real Estate magazine as an Impact Triangle Real Estate Broker for 2007/2008. 

Throughout her career, Preiss has participated in the development and acquisition of over 9,000 multi-family beds and secured lending for just under $400,000,000 in development and investment property. In addition to the NMHC, Preiss also serves on the Board of Directors of the SPCA and the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. She also serves on the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board and is a member of the NAA National Student Housing Committee, the NMHC National Student Housing Committee, and the Women President’s Organization.

Folckemer is TPCO’s Executive Vice President and oversees all acquisition, disposition, development and operations for the company. She is responsible for all joint venture and partnership relationships, as well as new business development activities. Folckemer has served as President for both Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women (TCREW) and the Institute of Real Estate Management Greater Raleigh-Durham Chapter (IREM) and currently serves on the Student Housing Committee for both the NMHC and National Apartment Association (NAA), and is actively involved in the Triangle Commercial Association of Realtors (TCAR) and Certified Commercial Investment Manager (CCIM).
