Company founder says that sales broker’s expertise fits well with Team’s dynamic and objectives

RALEIGH, NC – February 25, 2008 – The Preiss Company (“TPCO”), the largest off-campus student housing provider for North Carolina State University, Clemson University, UNC Charlotte, and the University of Texas in Austin, has announced the recent addition of Kyle Barger to its Acquisition and Development (A&D) Team. The A&D Team, formed in March 2007, is comprised of key TPCO brokers and focuses on the market research and identification of key value-add acquisitions.
Barger brings to TPCO over nine years’ sales experience. Before joining TPCO, he worked as a Regional Sales Manager with Cypress Care where he sold prescription cost-containment programs to insurance companies. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University and has a BA in Business Management. Barger says that although his background is not in real estate, his sales experience and training have well prepared him to make TPCO a leader in the student-housing arena.

Susan Folckemer, Vice President of Development & Sales for The Preiss Company, heads the A&D Team. The Team represents over 75 years’ of real estate experience with over $310 million in student housing development and acquisitions. The A&D Team recently acquired University Estates at Austin, a 1,548-bed apartment property located with three miles of the University of Texas. It was the company’s first student housing acquisition with HSBC Capital (USA) Inc.
