New appointee sees changing market expectations and norms to be greatest job challenge

RALEIGH, NC – March 25, 2009 – The Preiss Company (“TPCO”), the largest provider of off-campus student housing at North Carolina State University, Clemson University, Auburn University in Alabama, and the University of Texas in Austin and the second largest provider at UNC Charlotte, has announced the promotion of Chloe George to Property Manager of University Village at the Coast. University Village at the Coast is TPCO’s newest property acquisition and represents the company’s first presence in the Myrtle Beach market.
In her role, George will be responsible for managing the daily financial operations of the property, supervising the current property staff, finding and placing qualified tenants, developing rental agreements, enforcing tenant complaints and agreement compliance, and ensuring the overall management of property facilities. George has been with TPCO for three years and previously served as the Assistant Property Manager for the Raleigh Woods portfolio. She is a graduate of NCSU and is currently seeking her property management license. George says that she is excited about her new prospects and looks forward to making her mark in Myrtle Beach.

“I’m ready to lead the staff and property to achieve great financial and leasing success,” says George. “My goal is to use my knowledge and experience to help University Village at the Coast be the best and most affordable student housing provider for Coastal Carolina University and Horry-Georgetown Tech. We have a great reputation within the student housing industry, and it will be my job to make Myrtle Beach no exception.”

University Village at the Coast, formerly known as Campus Pointe at Myrtle Beach, is located off of Chanticleer Village Drive in Myrtle Beach. The property’s 148-unit, three-bedroom apartments feature large eat-in kitchens, laundry rooms, and a separate living area. University Village at the Coast also offers a full-range of amenities including fitness center with cardiovascular equipment and circuit training, state-of-the-art computer center, movie theater with stadium seating, resort-style pool with sundeck and stereo system, clubhouse with lounge, sand volleyball, gymnasium with indoor basketball courts, and game room with billiards room and foosball.

Company founder and CEO, Donna Preiss, says that George’s knowledge of the company’s goals and mission made her the ideal choice to manage the company’s property on the coast. “Chloe understands our culture and the value we place on providing the best ‘student housing experience’,” says Preiss. “She knows the process and can truly hit the ground running. I have every confidence that under Chloe’s leadership, University Village at the Coast will be another exemplary property in our growing portfolio.”
