Designation is one of the most coveted and respected designations in the real estate industry

RALEIGH, NC – November 13, 2008 – The Preiss Company (“TPCO”), the largest provider of off-campus student housing at North Carolina State University, Clemson University, Auburn University in Alabama, and the University of Texas in Austin and the second largest provider at UNC Charlotte, proudly announced that Bo Winn, Director for the Private Investor Division, was recently awarded the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation by the CCIM Institute. A CCIM is a recognized expert in the disciplines of both commercial and investment real estate. The designation was awarded during the Institute’s October business meeting in Chicago, Illinois.
Winn joined TPCO in 2005 and is responsible for the entire Private Investor Division, which includes sales, marketing, property management, and property management maintenance. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in Business Administration and currently serves on the Audit Committee and Special Delivery Committee for the local and regional chapters of the American Red Cross.

TPCO Chief Financial Officer, Kirk Preiss, put the CCIM pin on Winn’s shirt after his designation had been confirmed and announced. “It was truly an honor to be there with Bo and personally share in his accomplishment and enthusiasm,” said Preiss. “The entire Preiss Company family is extremely proud of Bo. We’re extremely fortunate to have a person of Bo’s professional caliber on our team and serving our clients.”

According to CCIM’s website, only 6 percent of the estimated 150,000 commercial real estate practitioners nationwide hold the CCIM designation, which is why it is one of the most coveted and respected designations in the industry. The CCIM membership network mirrors the increasingly changing nature of the industry and includes brokers, leasing professionals, investment counselors, asset managers, appraisers, corporate real estate executives, property managers, developers, institutional investors, commercial lenders, attorneys, bankers and other allied professionals.

Winn says that a great deal of learning, time, and hard work were involved in earning his CCIM designation. “The CCIM designation will be a real benefit for our clients,” says Winn. “It will enhance both my personal qualifications, as well as the Preiss Company’s well-deserved reputation as one of the premier real estate service companies in North Carolina. I’m proud to be a contributing member of this extraordinary and well-respected team.”

The CCIM designation was established in 1969 and is awarded to commercial real estate professionals upon successful completion of a graduate-level education curriculum and presentation of a portfolio of qualifying industry experience. The curriculum addresses financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis and investment analysis – the cornerstones of commercial investment real estate. CCIMs are recognized experts in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, asset management, valuation, and investment analysis.
