RALEIGH, NC – October 26, 2006 – The Preiss Company (TPCO), the largest housing provider of off-campus student housing at North Carolina State University and Clemson University, proudly announced that company Real Estate Broker, John Preiss, was recently awarded the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation by the CCIM Institute. A CCIM is a recognized expert in the disciplines of both commercial and investment real estate. The designation was awarded during the Institute’s fall business meeting on October 19th in Tampa, Florida.
Preiss’ recent award is a culmination of a career marked by notable corporate achievements. He has sold just under $60,000,000 worth of student housing to investors on the west coast and has consistently been one of The Preiss Company’s top sales leaders in 2006. Preiss also conducts investment seminars in both northern and southern California.

“John truly represents a new age of the globalized realtor,” says company founder and Chief Executive Officer, Donna Preiss. “Although he lives in Raleigh, most of his sales have been on properties not located in North Carolina. In this flattened economy, realtors are no longer defined by their geography, but by their skill level. It’s an incredible accomplishment and he’s certainly deserving of this coveted designation.”

Preiss was among 393 commercial real estate professionals who earned the designation by passing the Institute’s Comprehensive Examination, the final element in the designation process. Of the estimated 125,000 commercial real estate practitioners in North America, more than 8,600 currently hold the CCIM designation, which is considered one of the most coveted and respected designations in the industry.

John Preiss says that he is pleased with his accomplishment and that his designation reinforces The Preiss Company’s mission of providing their clients with the most reliable, dependable, and professional real estate resources in the state. “For almost 20 years, The Preiss Company has truly become a name you can trust in the real estate industry,” says Preiss. “I’m proud of my designation and look forward to putting my experience and knowledge to work for our clients.”

The CCIM designation was established in 1969 and is awarded to commercial real estate professionals upon successful completion of a graduate-level education curriculum and presentation of a portfolio of qualifying industry experience. The curriculum addresses financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis and investment analysis – the cornerstones of commercial investment real estate. CCIMs are recognized experts in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, asset management, valuation, and investment analysis.
