RALEIGH, NC, May 2, 2006 – The Preiss Company (TPCO), the largest housing provider of off-campus student housing at North Carolina State University, has recently introduced their new Signature Services to their recently acquired Raleigh housing property University Village at Raleigh. The services—all free to property residents—reinforce The Preiss Company’s commitment of changing the way students, parents, and the housing industry view off-campus housing. TPCO’s Signature Services are also available at the company’s other Raleigh properties: University Woods, University Glen, Gorman Street Village, University Oaks, University Meadows, and Method Townhomes.

TPCO’s Signature Services offer students “the comforts of home” while away at college. Among the services provided: dry cleaning pick-up and delivery, plant watering, and fax and copier services. Everything from jumper cables, a vacuum, and even a toolbox can be borrowed. Celebrating a birthday? The Preiss Company will arrange delivery of a free birthday balloon bouquet. They’ll even bring chicken soup to those residents feeling under the weather. In addition, TPCO is also the first student housing provider to offer free electronic banking to their residents.

University Woods Property Manager, Amy Davis, has seen the positive impact these services has had on their residents since its introduction to their property over a year ago. “Students have really responded to having this added ‘support system’ available to them,” explains Davis. “It’s not just the balloons or the soup that our residents are responding to. It’s the personnel connection. With all the new responsibilities and challenges that these young adults are facing for the first time, our Signature Services is just added peace of mind for them and their parents.”

TPCO’s Raleigh properties are the first to offer these personal services to their residents. “Because student housing is such a competitive market, we find ourselves continually seeking ways to attract students (and their parents) to the idea of living in off-campus housing,” adds Laurie Stanley, TPCO Director of Property Management. “We think these services will be very popular with the students and will serve as a solid and positive benchmark for our properties in other cities.”
